April is based on a misunderstanding.
The claim of ₤6.6.0 for medical examinatives undertaken during 1908 which appear in the C.C's accounts for February last does not, as he has supposed, relate solely to the examination of nursing sisters, to which he refers.
In the office, the officers themselves are charged for six examinations. So far as I can ascertain, it represents the amount due in respect of the examinations of officers of Hong Kong conducted in 1908 at the request of the Colonial Office, the fees for which were paid to Dr. P. Manson, and subsequently reimbursed to the Government by the Colonial Office.
The officers whose fees were paid are: Dr. Etherington, Dr. Johnstone, Dr. Richards, Dr. Park, Mr. Q.8. Harvey (Lighthouse Keeper), and Dr. W. Hunter.
