Your Confidential Despatch of February 13th.
Consulting Engineers consider that Eves has failed in some
important matters to justify the confidence placed in him by
the Colonial Government. They recommend that he be asked to
resign and that Lindsey, Indian Service, should be appointed
also as your traffic Expert on total salary of £2,000.
If you concur telegraph as soon as resigna-
tion received. I will then apply to the India Office to second
