At the close of Sir Henry Blake's
63. Despatch No. 360 of the 21st. July, 1903, it was explained
that the Reformatory was being utilized as a branch prison
until the congestion at Victoria Gaol could be otherwise
relieved. Owing to the decrease in the number of prisoners
sentenced in the Colony it became possible to close the
branch prison in January, 1908; and, as I am satisfied
that to use the Reformatory as a prison is not in accord-
-ance with the conditions of the bequest, I have gladly
acceded to the request of the Committee of the Eyre
Diocesan Refuge that the building should be used as a
