perform the duties of Sanitary Surveyor with his existing
Staff, and Mr. Carter' s services are, therefore, required
neither by the Sanitary Department nor by the Building

Authority.

I have, therefore, caused Mr.
Carter's pension to be calculated under the section dealing
with abolition of office" in the pension minute and I
enclose the usual statement of particulars.

I shall be glad to learn whether
Mr. Carter desires to contribute to the Widows' and
Orphans' Pensions and on the whole of his salary or on his
pension only.
6.
I have cancelled my Despatch
No. 178 of the 23rd. ultimo which has hitherto been held
over.
