No.212.
Hongkong.
My Lord,
Government House,
Hongkong, 22nd July, 1909.
I have the honour to confirm my telegram of the 21st instant informing Your Lordship that the services of Mr. A. Carter, Sanitary Surveyor, will no longer be required as his post has been abolished.
2. It was at first proposed that Mr. Carter should be transferred from the Sanitary Department to the Public Works Department, in view of the fact that by Ordinance No. 14 of 1908 the work of sanitary survey had been transferred (as being included under the Building Authority) to the latter Department. He was, however, temporarily retained by the Sanitary Board for some special work which had to be done in connection with cubicles, and when that work was completed he went home on leave on the 1st of last September.
3. In the meanwhile it has been ascertained that the Building Authority can satisfactorily perform
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
THE EARL OF CREWE,
