guard wire construction presents the most efficient protection.
The Regulations issued by the Board of
Trade under the Electric Lighting acts do not affect this
Company except possibly with regard to the supply of current
for lighting purposes to the premises of the Hongkong Jockey
Club.

The premises of the Hongkong Jockey Club
are supplied with light from the tramway system under special
permission from the Government, and with the approval of the
Hongkong Electric Company.
The Electric Traction Company supply the
current only the installation was fitted by the Hongkong
Electric Company and is under their regular supervision.
As the pressure of supply is 500 volts, it
comes under the heading of "medium pressure supply".

For securing the safety of the Public.

Paragraph (I) C. (I) requires that all wire
which shall shall be enclosed in a continuous metallic casing
be efficiently connected with earth.
This condition is not complied with.
In place of iron piping being used the wires (insulated) are run on porcelain insulators or cleats.
The entire installation is controlled by a
high tension main switch and fuse on the premises and the In switch is quite out of reach, being actuated by ropes . addition a special fuse is fitted on the tramway pole where the trolley wire is tapped for supply.
The wiring, lamps, and fittings are out of reach of any ordinary sized individual and as an additional precaution notices are placed in conspicuous places warning persons not to touch the wires.

In view of the climatic conditions existing
in
