The text before the narrative appears to be OCR gibberish and is not coherent. The actual text starts from "and patrolled his beat. Tun Wo Lane was in utter darkness at the time."
and patrolled his beat. Tun Wo Lane was in utter darkness at the time. Sergt. Terrett and myself lay in concealment for a considerable time and were saying to ourselves that we believed the whole thing was an imagination on the part of the C.C., when "Gulab" came along the lane from the Cochrane Street. He stopped at the top of the steps where we were concealed, shortly afterwards C.C. 159 came along the lane from the same entrance as Gulab had entered from. Gulab and the C.C. stood in the middle of the lane at the top of the steps and had a whispered conversation for about a minute. The C.C. then left Gulab and went along the lane as far as the turn and appeared to be looking towards Cochrane Street. During the time that the C.C. left and the time that he returned Gulab had stepped into a deep doorway on the West side of the lane at the top of the steps where Sergeant Terrett and myself were lying. The C.C. returned in about a couple of minutes and stood facing the doorway into which Gulab had taken up his stand. The C.C., who then had his lamp turned on, brought it round to the front of his body with the light shining on the doorway. I then saw Gulab standing in the doorway with his trousers undone. I saw Gulab take hold of the C.C.'s hand and place his penis in it. Immediately I saw this, I jumped up, went up to them, and asked
and seemed Gulab what was the matter, he did not answer me, stunned for the time being. I asked him to dress himself, but
had to repeat the order three times before he complied. After he had buttoned up his trousers, he asked me for a chance. I told him I could give him no chance and that he had to accompany Sergeant Terrett and myself to the Charge-room. We took him to the Charge-room and called the Chief Detective Inspector. That finished my part of the business.
