I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your Despatch No. 41 of February 25th, 1909.
It will be sufficient for purposes of record in the Colony if copies of all typewritten despatches (including those marked 'Confidential', but excluding 'Secret' Despatches) are forwarded with the originals.

2. With reference to your paragraph 3, the system of binding annually and retaining at Government House the originals of the Despatches from the Secretary of State was the custom which I found to be in existence here, as I believe it is in most other Colonies.
The duplicate copy is included with the file to which it belongs in the Secretariat. The existence of these volumes of Despatches at Government House saves a good deal of reference to the Secretariat and the carrying backwards and forwards...
