Salaries of Cadet Appointments.
Transmits a memorial from Mr G. N. Orme together with a copy of a minute by Mr Fletcher, Mr Jules-Cox.
This paper I can find nothing in the enclosures to justify or even necessitate the decision that Mr Orme cannot be granted exceptional treatment. I understand that he is a good officer but it is sufficiently clear that he is suffering from the so-called "tropical head" which unfortunately affects the majority of Eastern Cadets.
The position is this: Mr Orme is a Passed Cadet on $540 post Drawing £350 a year allowance. He is £420 rising to £540 on his promotion. Your wishes & draw £460 on the ground that he loses money. This is frankly nonsense.
