August, and I note our instructions that one of the
conditions shall be the total abolition of Divans. On
this subject I shall address you in a separate Despatch.

I desire on behalf of the Colony
to express my thanks to His Majesty's Government for the
promise to make a substantial contribution towards making
good the revenue which it is found will be lost as the
direct result of the adoption of measures prescribed by
His Majesty's Government.
