of the British Section of the Kowloon-Canton Railway, that
this matter formed the subj.ct of careful consideration
and consultation with Mr. A. J. Barry during his recent
visit. I enclose an extract from the précis, which I drew
up, of the discussion of various Railway matters, at which
Mr. Barry, the Colonial Secretary, the Director of Public
Works, and Mr Eyes were present, and which took place
•
subsequent to a thorough examination on the ground. I
attach also a minute by the Director of Public Works, shaw-
-ing how the figures quoted are arrived at, with 2 illustra-
-tive plans.
