I am obliged to you for the 12th instant enquiry as to whether Cullen's last salary receipt, which had been forwarded to the Colony, contained any address by which he might be traced, but I gather from your reply that it did not. The receipt contained no address.

The question of payment to the Crown Solicitor was discussed. Mr. Risley's view was that the Crown Solicitor was not entitled to fees when the papers were ruled in forma pauperis - at least, not to gross fees but the Crown Solicitor referred to the conditions connected with his last 3 appointments (since 1893) and stated that he was not pursuing the matter.
