In reply to your letter No. 28301/1908, I have the honour to inform you, that after due careful consideration, and the decision of the Secretary of State and His Excellency the Governor of Hongkong being irrevocably unalterable, I have no option remaining but to place my resignation of the appointment of Government Bacteriologist of the Colony of Hongkong at the expiration of my present leave, in his Lordship's hand to be.
