With reference to my letter of April 10th, 1908, and to your reply thereto of April 16th, numbered 12766/1908, I have the honour to inform you that I have now completed my six months' appointment as Resident House Physician at the Seamen's Hospital, and venture to crave your permission to accept and hold the appointment of Resident Medical Officer of the Royal Waterloo Hospital for Children and Women for the remainder of my leave, in order that I may make a special study of the latest methods of treatment of the diseases peculiar to women and children.
The honorarium attached to this office, which is at the rate of £40 a year, is even more nominal than that offered by the Seamen's Hospital, which, in accordance with the intention indicated in my letter of April 10th, has been devoted to the purchase of a new bacteriological microscope.
