(Minutes.) The early history of the Hongkong Military contribution will be found in concise form in the Report of the Interdepartmental Committee on Colonial Military Contributions of 1880. From 1865 to 1889, it was £20,000 a year. The Committee's report raised it to £40,000 for four years. In 1895-6, it was fixed at 17½% of the gross revenue less land sales in accordance with the report of the 1895 Interdepartmental Committee.
