In continuation of my despatch No. 31, Confidential,
of July 25th. last on the affairs of the Chinese section
of the Canton-Kowloon Railway, I have the honour to report
that Mr. Grove, the Engineer-in-Chief, has now complated
his estimate of the total cont of the line from Canton to
the British frontier.
Er. Grove is unable to furnish me with a copy of this
estimate for your perunal but sugreete that the "ribish
