Foreign Office, October 19, 1908. WITH reference to your letter of the 10th instant, I am directed by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to inform you that he concurs in the selection of Mr. Mackenzie King to represent Canada on the International Opium Commission which is to be held at Shanghai, and suggest that the Governor-General of Canada be so informed.
Mr. Mackenzie King will be officially appointed Commissioner as soon as the other Commissioners are selected.
