last night, I have the honour to inform you that the "Suisang" left this Port and anchored at a distance of two miles from the shore yesterday morning in accordance with orders received. Provisions are carried out to her by the Tug "Ramon Corral". With respect to the "Landrat Schieff" precautionary measures have not been taken as there has been no occasion for them. In this case I have only recommended the Chief of the Port to order the Customs Officers to keep a sharp look out.

In order that you may take the action you recommend, your note No.2674 of the 17th instant, is being transcribed to the Minister of War and Marine. In this Note you inform me that the Sanitary Delegate in Salina Cruz, as the result of the escape from that vessel of various Chinese immigrants suffering from trachoma who arrived on the "Suisang" has ordered the steamer to anchor two miles outside the Bay, and you request that the Chief of the Port be ordered, through the Ministry of War and Marine, to carry out the regulations of the Sanitary Delegate in order to avoid further desertions.

Dear Sir:- Doctors Angel Vallarino and Luis Buhot will do me the favour to inform you respecting the conditions of the passengers by the Steamship "Suisang" belonging to this Company in regard to whose report I last Saturday requested your kind consideration, which you were good enough to assure me should be given to it.
I should be extremely grateful if with your customary sense of rectitude and politeness you would have the goodness to pay attention to what Messrs Vallarino and Buhot have to say, in order to arrive at a true understanding of the disputed facts which is of such importance alike for the health of the Republic and for the interests and just treatment of the China Commercial Steamship Company.
