No.14. From Salina Cruz, June 1st 1908. I have the honour to inform you that of the 9 Chinese detained in barracks, one, who was a second class passenger was released on Saturday though very ill with trachoma. The intended places of residence of the remaining 8 were duly noted. Four of them were set at liberty to-day, their state of health being satisfactory, the other four were re-embarked on board the "Suisang", trachoma having fully developed itself in their cases. No.18. From Salina Cruz. June 3rd 1908. I have the honour to inform you that the four immigrants re-embarked on board the "Suisang" on Monday were not second class passengers, as those of that class were set at liberty according to your orders, of which I informed you in my telegrams on that subject, noting their destinations as directed. The last of the second class passengers was detained because suffering from mumps. This is the one mentioned in my message of the 1st instant. (Signed) F. Valenzuela.
