Since writing the above I have had a visit from
Mr Lueng Ham Ming, the Representative of the China Steam-
ship Company.
He tells me that he had an interview with
President Diaz on Wednesday, the 29th.
During the conversation the President gave Mr Luong to understand that
the Chinese entered Mexico principally to proceed to the
United States, and stated that it would be preferable that
