Concerning the 210 men whose landing was refused, I have made the necessary examination of the tests they brought. They informed me that only about 9 are suffering from trachoma. They have further examined the passengers of the newly arrived ship the "Landratschief" which has on board 310 men whose landing was refused, and they found a similar percentage of sick and healthy. They further state that the slightest roughness in the eyes is considered as trachoma by the Delegate, and that his examination was a very superficial one.
