Downing Street, June 20, 1908. I am directed by the Earl of Crewe to transmit to you, to be laid before Secretary Sir E. Grey, the inclosed copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong, on the subject of the proposed Convention between Great Britain and Japan for the protection of trade-marks.

(Confidential.) My Lord,
Government House, Hong Kong, May 14, 1908. With reference to the Confidential Foreign Office Print of the 17th February last, I have the honour to request that the proposed Convention between Great Britain and Japan for the protection of trade-marks may be, when drafted, referred to the Government of this Colony for the opinion of its merchants and traders.
