In a despatch which I had the honour to address to you in the Consular series on the 1st of September last, numbered 20, I had occasion to report a disagreeable episode affecting a young English girl in this country in the house of a Chinaman, who has been residing for some two years in the neighbourhood of Stockholm.
Circumstances have now enabled me to find out certain definite facts with regard to the personality of the Chinaman in question which it may be of service to report. He is, it seems, a man who is well known for his past record in China, one Kwan Yu Wai. Some ten years ago he was engaged in a revolution against his present dynasty, in conjunction with Juang-Tche-Kay, who, however, secured his own position by denouncing his accomplices. A price was set upon the head of Kwan Yu Wai.
