SECTION 1.

[17171]

(No. 193.) Sir,

No. 1.

Mr. Lister to Sir Edward Grey.-(Received May 19.)

Paris, May 18, 1908.

I HAVE the honour to report that on the 4th instant, on receipt of your despatch No. 181 of the 29th ultimo respecting the reciprocal protection of trade-marks in China and Corea, Sir Francis Bertie addressed a note to M. Pichon, informing him of the alterations brought about by the recent Order in Council, according to which it is no longer necessary for a foreigner to obtain the consent of His Majesty's Minister at Peking before commencing proceedings in a British Consular Court against a British subject for pirating a trade-mark.

I have received an official communication from M. Pichon, dated the 16th instant, formally acknowledging the receipt of Sir Francis Bertie's note.

I have, &c. (Signed) REGINALD LISTER.
