Paraphrase of Telegram from Sir P. Warren, Shanghai,
dated April 9th, 1908.
A Despatch from the Viceroy of Nanking to the
Taotai of Shanghai has been published by native
newspaper, in which His Excellency expresses his
thorough satisfaction at the measures agreed to at
the recent ratepayers' meeting for the suppression
of opium houses in the Settlement.
