TRADE-MARK Convention with Japan.

Please see last sentence of your telegram No. 28 of the 1st instant.
I request that you will definitely ascertain that Japanese Consular Courts in China and Corea will be empowered, as soon as the Convention has been concluded, to protect British trade-marks against infringement, whether those marks are or are not in use in Japan. Unless this is so the value of the Convention would be nil.
