Canton Kowloon Railway.

So far as we know the final survey of the line has not yet been completed, and we have no information as to when this may be expected. We presume, however, that it cannot be much longer delayed. We have heard indirectly that the new alignment between Sheklung and Po-kok involves a good deal of heavy work and that it has been found necessary to introduce a number of rather sharp curves and more or less severe gradients.

We trust, however, that all possible care has been taken that both sharp curves and steep gradients do not occur at the same place and that this important question has been so dealt with as not to impair the running efficiency of the Railway.

The principal works of the railway are of course the important bridges over the East River and its branches; these works will prescribe the date when the Railway...
