Question asked in the House of Commons, February 25, 1908.

Mr. Rees, To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether it is proposed to increase the strength of the China Squadron, and to send a war-ship, superior to the class of a gun-boat, to patrol the Persian Gulf.

Answer.

The answer to both parts of this question is in the negative. The Persian Gulf is visited from time to time by the larger ships of the East Indies squadron.
