RETENTION of troops at Tongshan.
Peking, November 27, 1907.
On the receipt of your telegram No. 127 of the 23rd instant, I consulted the General Officer Commanding the British troops on the subject. We are of opinion that in view of the fact that the dispute between the Viceroy of Chihli and the Chinese Engineering and Mining Company is no longer in an acute state, it is unnecessary to retain troops at Tongshan,
