With reference to the consultation at your office
yesterday, when it was arranged that we should submit a
reduced plan of the Breakwater and sheltering works, in
order to provide for the contingency of its being consider-
ed in the Colony that the total expenditure on the main
Breakwater, as well as on the Jetty and Reclamation, should
be limited to the estimated outlay required on the Break
water if constructed of the length shown by red colour on
plan A which accompanied our Report of 3rd. instant, and
as referred to in the 6th. paragraph of that Report, viz.,
$1,540,000;
we have considered this subject and now beg to
annex a plan whereon we have shown a revised project to
