On the other hand if Sehere 2 be adopted ruch less
reclaimed land would be taken with better curves round
Signal Hill.
Another great advantage is that the fanning
out of the lines necessary for entering the various platforms
of the Station would commence beyond the west tangent of
the curves and after the comer at Signal Hill has been well
passed.

Moreover, if future extension is required it will
be found much easier to extend the platforms of Sobere 2
in an easterly direction across Robinson Road than to extend
westward from Scheme 3.
A disadvantage of Scheme 2 is that access to the
Godowns on the south side of Salisbury Road is rendered more
difficult for vehicular traffic from Robinson Road, as a level
orossing at this point scross so many lines of rails would be
impracticable.
A good footbridge suitable for rickshaws
oœuld, however, be provided and good access for all descriptiore
of traffic oœuld still be maintained by Macdonnell Road and
by a level orossing at the termination of Des Voeux Road,
while Salisbury Road can be made 60 feet wide. Sohee 3 is
also open to objections from the point of view of road access
to Salisbury Road and Blackheads Wharf, as a level crossing
over so many linos at the temination of Des Voeux Road would
be impracticable, and in consequence, if access is to be
given to Des Voeux Road,
