what Mr Bowden said to me of him, I did not think it worth

the expense of a visit to Hereford to make other enquiries.

I think, therefore, that I may safely recommend that the

appointment be offered to Mr Lofthouse, subject of course

to the usual medical examination. Mr Lofthouse agreed, when

here, to your stipulation as to vaccination should your

medical adviser require it.
