take such diplomatic action as he may deen to be advisable

with a view to removing the terminal office of the Chinese

Telegraphs to the frontier. I shall then be glad to discuss

any arrangement which the Chinese Government may desire to

put forward for the working of the Section in this Colony,

whether by this Government or by the Eastern Extension

Telegraph Company or otherwise.
