With reference to Lord Elgin's

Despatch No. 58 of the 13th. ultimo, I have the honour to

inform you that, subject to your approval, I have directed

that Sisters and Nurses shall be treated free of charge

when admitted to Hospital, as the Principal Civil Medical

Officer states that this is the universal custom. Other

members of the subordinate staff attached to the Government

Hospitals will be treated free of charge if admitted to

Hospital suffering from illness which is clearly the

result of their work.

I have the honour to be,

My Lord,

Your Lordship's most obedient,

humble servant,

RIGHT HONOURABLE

THE EARL OF CREWE,

2cc.
