With reference to paragraph 3 of
Gov. 46337
your Despatch No. 48 of the 4th. ultimo, I have the honour
to point out that if Colonial Regulation No. 108 were
strictly adhered to, the extra pay of Mr. Remedios for
acting as Superintendent of the Registration and Parcels
Branch of the Post Office would amount to $100.78 for the
period from the 31st. July to the 31st. March, being
equivalent to about $12 per mensem,
• —a sum which I can-
-not consider an adequate recompense for the extra work
of 100 hours per mensem and the additional responsibility
of taking charge of one of the most important branches of
the postal service.
2.
Mr. Remedios has drawn since the
31st. October, when Mr. Martin's half-pay became available,
to the 31st. March, a total sum of $1,751.97, being the
full pay of the First Clerk and the half-pay of the
