entitled "An Ordinance to authorize the removal of Fire
Insurance Companies from the Register of Companies in
certain cases"

This Ordinance is complemental
of the Life Insurance Companies Ordinance, 1907, a copy of
which was forwarded in my Despatch No. 207 of the 8+1.
Aurust last, and it is designed to prevent the carrying on
in the Chinese Treaty Ports of fraudulent Fire Insurance
business by Chinese and others, who parade the fact of
their registration under the Company Laws of this Colony
as a proof to the credulous that they have the guarantee
