5 June 1807.

In continuation of my despatch No.

282 of the 12th

instant I have the honour to transmit to you copy of a

Note from the Wal Wu Pu in which they requested that one

of Sun Yat Sen's confederates, Têng Tzu-yɑ by name.

was stated to be in Hongkong planning revolutionary

schemes,

who +

should be arrested by the Colonial Government

and handed over to the Chinese authorities on the

mainland.

As the Board's communication was based upon a

telegram from the Viceroy at Canton which merely asked

that the man should be deported from the Colony,

I

ignored their request for extradition and telegraphed

to the Officer Administering the Government of the

Colony in the sense of the Viceroy's suggestion.

The purport of the Acting Governor's reply,

which

stated

The Right Honourable

Sir Edward Grey Bart., M.P.,

etc. etc. etc.
