Wang Tahsieh to Sir Edward Grey.-(Received April 27.)
Your Excellency,
Chinese Legation, April 26, 1907. I HAVE the honour to inform your Excellency that on the 18th instant I received a telegram from the Wai-wu Pu authorizing me to sign and seal the bonds of the loan of 1,500,000, which the British and Chinese Corporation has undertaken to raise for the construction of the Canton-Kowloon Railway, in accordance with the Agreement entered into between the Wai-wu Pu and the British and Chinese Corporation on the 7th March, 1907.
In accordance with Article 5 of the said Agreement, each of the said bonds is to be impressed with the seal of my office and my signature in facsimile. This course of procedure will be literally adopted when the Corporation is ready to present the bonds for the purpose of being thus sealed.
