I have the honour to report on the negotiatione now in
progress relative to the adoption of effective measuros ni-in
at the supereunion of piracy on the inland vatera.
I enclose comics and translations of the following
correctendances-
(1). Despatch to Admiral Li Chun dated Jany 5th, 107.
(2). Despatch from Admiral Li Chun, Jasy 15th, 107.
(3). Despatch to Admiral Li Chun, Juny Blut, **7.
(4). Despatch to Viceroy of the last mentioned date.

al'e control to that of the Imperial Maritime Customs and that
he had no power to do so. He agrand, however, that, if the
Admiral should reise no objection to the employment of Customs'
