No. 1.
SECTION 5 APR 07.
Sir J. Jordan to Sir Edward Grey.-(Received January 12.)
Peking, January 12, 1907.
In the opinion of my French colleague, the disturbances referred to in your telegram No. 4 of the 10th instant are at an end; he has received no telegrams on the subject since the 25th December, 1906.
His Majesty's Consul at Ningpo telegraphs that a letter dated the 4th instant, just received from a missionary at Haimen, contains no hint of any danger. He adds that there have been no developments in the case since his despatch of the 20th November, 1906, copy of which was forwarded to the Foreign Office in my despatch No. 510 of the 7th December of last year.
