Question asked in the House of Commons, February 21, 1907.

Mr. Weir,--To ask the Secretary of State for India, whether he has received a copy of a Resolution carried at a recent meeting of the United Free Church Presbytery of Lochcarron, Ross-shire, urging that the traffic in opium between India and China should cease; and will he state what action is being taken in the matter.

Answer.

The Resolution was received by me, as a great number of such resolutions have been received, and duly acknowledged. For the action that His Majesty's Govern. ment are taking on the proposals of the Chinese Government, honourable friend to my answer to a question on the 19th February.
