I agree, but the agent of the Corporation at Peking telegraphs that Tong informs him that it is possible that before the Chinese New Year nothing can be done about

the Edict. He says that a further six weeks' delay will ensue,

I would be obliged if you would inform me whether, in your opinion, any step can usefully be taken to avoid this long additional delay, as the Corporation hage already waited ten weeks since the signature of tae Agreement.
