KOWLOON RECLAMATION.
With reference to your letter of May 7th. B.361/8.
with a copy of a letter dated May 2nd from the Colonial
Office forwarding a copy of a confidential Despatch on the
above subject dated March 21st from His Excellency the
Governor of Hong Kong, we have had an opportunity of
considering these documents and now beg to report as follows:-
The scheme proposed provides,
1. For the extension of the reclamation in a southerly
direction until it abuts on Kowloon Marine Lots
No.81 (Black's Lots).
2. The acquisition of Kowloon Marine Lots Nos. 34 and 81
and Kowloon Inland Lot No.210.
3. The acquisition of a strip of land on the north side
of Salisbury Road.
4. The construction of a Deep Water Wharf 1,400 ft. in
length.
The first three of these proposals are necessary
in order to provide a site for the terminal station with
suitable approaches, and also siding accommodation for the
lots of Messrs Butterfield & Swire and of the Far East ...
