No loads measured.

Remarks.

The load was applied at a distance of 12" from the end of the Pipe.

The same Pipe was again tested but the load was applied at a distance of 2'8" from the other end, the Pipe being given a half turn in order to test the metal in both directions.

The Pipe was afterwards crushed down as far as the machine would allow, in order to further develop the cracks which had appeared when the knife edges were 4" apart.
