wire lines of communication from the said Signal Stations to the Harbour Office and the instruments connected with the same and a direct wire line of communication from the Harbour Office to the Naval Yard and the instruments connected with the same and also will if required by and at the expense of the Commissioners erect and lay and thereafter at their own expense maintain direct wire communications from the Cape D'Aguilar Signal Station to the Naval Yard and from the Peak Signal Station to the Naval Yard and will lend and maintain the necessary instruments for working the same.

This Agreement may be determined at the Thirty-first day of December in any year on either party giving to the other 12 Calendar Months previous notice in writing in Hongkong and on the determination of the Agreement the Commissioners shall return to the Government possession of the said Signal Stations and all material and apparatus appertaining thereto and the instruments lent to them in connection with the direct lines of communication with the Naval Yard.
In the event of the determination of this Agreement under the last preceding clause the Government shall refund to the Commissioners the original cost of any buildings erected by the Commissioners within the limit of the Stations during the currency of this Agreement, provided that plans and particulars of such buildings have been submitted and approved by the Government prior to their erection.
