With reference to the appointment of Lieutenant C.W.Beckwith, R.N., as Acting Harbour Master, and to his subsequent appointment as Assistant Harbour Master at Hong Kong, notified in your communication 3662 of 1st instant, I have to request that you will be good enough to inform me whether service in these appointments will count for pension from Colonial Funds, in the event of the latter appointment being made permanent.
