For the entertainment of Mr. Yang, a dinner was given at a restaurant by a number of Chinese gentlemen. The two cruisers were visited by a number of Chinese during their stay in the harbour. See "China Mail" of 4th November, 1907, attached.

I see a Major (degraded) T'sai T'eng-chi mentioned in Viceroy Yuan's Memorial. I believe him to be Taoi Yeuk-shan, ex clerk in the Registrar General's Office who absconded from Hongkong to avoid arrest for stealing money from the body of one of the people killed in the fall of houses in Cochrane Street, and who was on board one of the Cruisers.
