Having learned that the Governorship of Newfoundland is likely to become vacant during the course of next year, I have the honour to ask Your Excellency to be good enough to submit my name as a candidate for the appointment.
I have administered the Government of this Colony on 3 occasions, viz: from 21st. November, 1903, to 29th. July, 1904; from December, 1906, to January, 1907 (5 weeks) and from April to July (3 months and 1 week) in 1907.
