from the publication of letters written in such an over-

wrought state of mind, but I directed that they should be

forwarded to his relatives. The Assistant Superintendent

of the Prison gave evidence at the Coroner's inquest that

the deceased "admitted the crime to him and also the

justice of the sentence",
