Engineer, is employed. Mr. Logan will sever his connection
with the Railway in January next.

With reference to the 2nd. paragraph of
my notes on the 2nd. meeting regarding the letting of sub-
contracts in the New Territories, I now enclose copy of a
minute dated the 15th. instant in which I have authorised
an arrangement by which difficulties which have arisen in
the past in the payment of the coolies working under sub-
contractors will I trust be obviated.
